Old Java uses modern construction and manufacturing processes to ensure that all our products meet the highest international standards.
It all starts with our computerized kilns, which are fully automatic and programmable. These ensure even drying in the most efficient conditions to our standard 8% Moisture Content. We even dry our seasoned old wood to this standard. This minimizes the risk of cracking after our products are exported to other countries with climatic conditions, such as temperature and humidity.
After drying, we cut and sand the wood to make components to enable us to manufacture to a higher standard and greater volume. We have computerized detailed technical drawings of every product, and this helps us to standardize many components to reduce costs.
The manufacturing process uses modern machinery, including compressed air systems for glueing, clamping, sanding and dust collectors, and enables us to realize our manufacturing objective of making our products "Better, Faster, Cheaper".
Once the assembly is complete, we then do further sanding and finally apply our traditional hand finishing, which gives our furniture its beautiful wax patina
